Daikin One Home

Can't tell for sure until the summer comes and I can see how the AC works, but the heat pump heating is great, assume cooling will be as well. Gentle, you barely notice it is on but it keeps the house comfortable. Had a problem with the first thermostat, it fluctuated wildly, they replaced it but the new one has similar issues. It would be better if it just used a standard thermostat, their thermostat is not good. 5 stars for the heat pump, 1 star for the thermostat, 3 stars overall.

App worked great for a while, but since the latest update it has started crashing my phone. When opening, about 75% of the time, it locks up for ~30 seconds until my phone (pixel 8) force restarts. I have to avoid opening the app unless I have time to reboot my phone. Exceedingly frustrating.

How great it is to check things at home from anywhere in the world. I travel often, sometimes just down the street to the local store, but when I do, it's great to know that I can check temps at home and if I decide to delay my trip home I can always adjust the environment at home remotely. Geofencing is very cool but doesn't always work properly. Home automation in its most useful form.

I got the new Daikin home AC system. Loving it, but had to replace our Nest with their thermostat and app. Extremely disappointed, given the cost of the thermostat you would expect a few basic things. 1) That it keeps the accurate temp of your room at any given moment. It doesn't. It is 4 degrees than any other temp measurements taken in the same location. 2) That it could give a basic readout to the history of use like the Nest. It doesn't. Its very basic in its functionality.

Updated: In case you find yourself in the same situation, the trick was removing the device (thermostat) from the app, restart the thermostat, and re-add the device to the app. I'm back!! Worked great for the first 4 months, now cannot connect to the Daikin One Cloud. I've restarted everything, uninstalled & reinstalled the app, reset the password, you name it..

3/26/2024 Daikin One worked flawlessly for about the first two full weeks after it was installed, but for at least three weeks now, it is off- line and can't be used, I've tried many times to reboot and reconnect to the internet, I keep getting a message, " Daikin One app has a bug, you can't use the app, until the Developer updates the app with a bug fix." When is that going to happen? I love controlling the thermostat from my phone, great if you would fix Bug. Thank You, Joe Mutch.

I changed my rating from one star to four stars, because a developer responded very quickly and explained the deficiency. I have no chance to check actual functionality, since it appears that my system is not compatible with this app, and the app which used to control my system is not available for my version of Android. Suggestions for the developer: 1. Create unified user management for all users, no matter what devices are connected. 2. Create cross-references for various daikin apps.

Downloaded this app after our hvac unit was installed back in May and it has worked wonderfully! However, just recently, about 2 weeks ago, every time I use my app it tells me my "thermostat is offline" and I'm unable to adjust the temp even when standing next to the wall mount. I'm not sure what is going on with it but it's driving me crazy!

[Original] Creating an account, this app won't accept my home address! So I'm stuck without web access. [Revised] After several email exchanges I was able to create an account and register my thermostats. Now I can see and control both thermostats from my phone. SUGGESTION: First step should be a Reboot of the thermostat (look for this in the settings/reboot.) The reboot in my case caused a software update.

Multiple problems. This is as much about the thermostat as the app that controls it. 1. Time zone always reverts to East Coast. The app and the thermostat then use different time zones. 2. App control of fan does not work correctly. EX: Changing the fan from always on to off does not work. 3. Many features that should be user setable requires in-person service support (i.e. incurs a service charge) 4. Tech support for the app & thermostat:. They're courteous but can't solve problems.
