Reviews Summary
People have mixed feelings about the app Tile: Making Things Findable. While some users find it very useful for locating lost items such as keys and wallets, many others report frequent connection issues, inaccuracies, and frustrating interactions with customer support, alongside problems with features like smart alerts and location updates.
I've been a premium customer for over two years. I recently lost my covered item, made all the appropriate reports, and was finally past the waiting period to submit for reimbursement. The app will not allow me to submit it because of a server error and it's not an option to submit via the website. I feel like I'm getting the runaround from customer support! I simply want the service I paid for and I'm getting nowhere with it. Can someone please fix this.
Developer response:
We can understand your frustration regarding submitting your reimbursement claim. I apologize for the inconvenience with the server error. I was able to locate your support ticket & it has been raised to our higher level of support. Once there is an update or resolution on your ticket, our team will send a response soon. Thank you! -MM
Intially when I started about 2 years ago this system worked very well. Basically Ever since I converted to the newer versions I'm having issues with tiles not connecting even if is only a small distance away in an open room, not sure what happens have tried numerous times with service and the conclusion is to reset the tile which only has worked temporarily. Not sure if will replace these tiles when they quit working. I will update this review if the issue is resolved

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. If you notice that your Tile's range is significantly shorter than the promised range (https://bit.ly/2PR3PZs), we definitely want to know more! Please email [email protected], and reference this review. We'd love to connect and look into this further for you. Looking forward to your email. -MM
When you replace the battery in your tile you have to manually click on the notification to tell it that you have changed it, and then it can take up to 48 hours for the low battery/needs replacement notification to go away. I only found that out after throwing away 4 batteries and contacting customer support. What a waste of time and resources. Hoping it actually updates.
Developer response:
Thanks for sharing your feedback. We're always looking for ways to improve Tile products and services and we appreciate your sharing your experience regarding the battery notification. We have sent this to the appropriate team for consideration. Thank you for your support in Tile. -MM
I can't believe this app doesn't support home screen widgets (nor apparently IFTTT or other integrations that would allow me to pair it with a physical button). It's just such an obvious feature. Shame on me for not doing my research first, I guess. A button on my home screen to instantly ring my wallet and keys would be useful pretty much every day. Having to open a specific app for this feels very.. Not modern.

About two months ago the tile app started reporting my tiles physical location from miles away and reporting my location as the physical location. However when you click on the assigned tile it's correct. I use the tile app everyday. This needs to be corrected post haste for effective reporting. I've called customer service and the customer service reps seem lost and don't understand what is going on even with screenshots sent to them.
The click the tile to find the phone has been buggy with me, often not connecting despite being in the same room. I have even rechecked to make sure I was clicking appropriately to make sure it wasn't user error. Other than that annoyance, it's been great, it is very helpful for me fronting my wallet and keys. I have a 2-year-old that often moves them throughout the house, so as long as I have my phone I've been able to find my keys and wallet each time.
Doesn't work with Google Assistant on Wear OS, but does work on Apple Watch... That's lame Three years later, still the same. No WearOS support, and for whatever reason requires Google Assistant Voice Match, which only works on Home devices. So if you are not at home, then you have to open the app to ring an item, you can't just ask the Assistant handsfree.

TLDR: Great Product. App login/account creation needs improvements. Creating an account in the app is kind of a PITA. I already had an account which I forgot about but when I put in my email and password to make a new account it just said "Email and Password don't match" instead of "This account already exist" so it took me 5 minutes to figure out how to login rather than the 30 seconds it should've taken me. Which after finally logging in it literally took 15 seconds. It was awesome.
It's nice when I need to find something for sure, fully unhelpful at preventing leaving things behind though. I consistently get the "left behind" notifications 25-40 after I've already left the item behind. Helpful if you're like, still in town, or if something is worth backtracking 25-40 min back get... Even when it does notify on time, there is zero way to make it buzz like a phone call. Just blends in with every other notification buzz. Could blame the OS, but other apps work around that.
Developer response:
If you leave a Tiled item behind, the app will notify you anywhere between 5-10 minutes after your device leaves and breaks its geofence (100 meters or around 300 meters). When it works, it works great. But smart alerts rarely work which is a main reason I subscribed to premium. If you need something reliable in a pinch, look elsewhere. Update: Tile recently stopped working on my tablet. After nearly 30 minutes with tech support I was informed tablets are not supported. Regardless of OS Version. Especially frustrating because I stated in my initial outreach that I was struggling with a tablet. Why it took 30 minutes to circle back is beyond me.
