Reviews Summary
People generally do not like the Chilis app due to frequent issues with payment methods, glitches in order processing, lack of customization options, and overall poor functionality, although a few users find it user-friendly when it works correctly.
A while ago, the app used to be decent, as it would allow significant customizations to the order, and would immediately tell you pickup time when order was completed. Now there are less customizations and you can't even tell if the order went through. Eventually, you may get an email to pick up order, but possibly too late to pick up order when ready, and it gets cold in the mean time while you drive to restaurant to pick it up.
Everytime I try to pay it says, "Sorry we are unable to accept this method of payment. Please try again with a different card or payment method." I've used my debit card, credit card, and even gift cards. Every. Single. Time. Same response. So whenever I want to place a to-go order, I have to call and then walk in and pay for it. This app is complete trash and I refuse to order anymore to-go orders until this is fixed.
Garbage. It will NEVER let me pay online with a gift card. Always gives me an error for years now. Never was that big of a deal because I could just check pay in store. But now they just updated the app and removed the pay in store option, but still gives an error with gift cards. Making the app virtually useless since I'll have to order in store and wait, instead of ordering ahead.
Recently local chilis have decided to make online orders only pay online. However the app does not function well enough to even accept that. Attempting to place orders through google pay just send you back to the main menu and using a regular credit card, no matter how functional, just declines even though if I could pay in store it would work perfectly fine. Bring back pay in store and have your workers actually verify people's orders or fix the functionality of the app.
Very straightforward, easy to use and very user-friendly. They did change a couple things over the last year or so when it comes down to the UI likes switching the direction of tip percentages showing the largest on the left knowing everyone was already familiar with how it was placed. That slight is why I give this a four-star instead of five, people are already having issues with money, don't resort to tricking your customers. It's a bad look.
Have gotten rewards by email for years. Updated the app to reserve a place in line (didn't work) and now rewards go to the app. I get notifications for rewards, but when I go to use them, they're not in the app. Servers' reasponse is basically "gee that sucks, here's your bill". I've lost out on a lot of rewards because I no longer get the emails. Uninstalled. If I don't get emails again, I guess I'll switch to Applebee's
The app is slow to load, glitchy, and after spending time picking out what we want the order would NOT go through at all. This has happened several times. It's so difficult to order online or get someone to answer the phone. We ended up going to the grocery store and making our own restaurant style food instead. Saved a lot of money instead of ordering out.
This app can be very deceiving. App has worked fine for ordering every time Ive used it, but my issues lie with the pricing they have. For example, smokehouse combo. It has a price of 19.79 and a description that states it comes with ribs and crispers with all the sides. When you click to order it, it shows all default options, but getting the ribs with it cost $3 more. Its advertised as one price with specific items. Get those items though and its more expensive.
Gets worse all the time. Started being able to edit some things. Then it got glitchy where sometimes it would allow edits and times it wouldn't. Now it doesn't let me edit anything. Also, for the love of goodness, how hard is to add an (other) area where you can write in specifications that aren't included? If I'm using an app, I want to do everything in the app.
This has started to become my go-to place for takeout. The app works really well and gives you plenty of customization options on your food. The only thing I can say is they have the locator set up a little bit wide sometimes it'll show I'm there when I'm in an adjacent parking lot not quite ready to go over there yet. But it seems like the servers understand that and they just watch for a car to show up after the system checks you in automatically. All in all it's a well done app
