Reviews Summary
Overall, users have mixed feelings about the Babylist Baby Registry app, as many users praise its convenience and the ability to compile items from multiple stores into one registry, while others criticize its poor shipping, high prices, issues with app functionality, and return policies.
Too expensive, not user friendly, has hidden fees. Everything on this app's store can be found for way less on Amazon. They advertise free cards which you will be charged for upon arrival. The baby box is free and they tell you about shipping, but the cards came and I had to pay for them. I asked for my money back and now have a credit to my account which I cannot apply to the baby box, I have to buy something even more expensive from their store. It doesn't make sense. Stick to Amazon.
Android app seems to be an afterthought. A lot of features don't work smoothly like they do in an ios device. For example not being able to add certain colors or varients to a registry, colors missing from the shop view, custom images disappearing and needing to be re-added, and convoluted settings menus. I find myself just grabbing my husband's phone to use the app, which is disappointing. It's a well put together system so still 3 stars but the user experience on Android is frustrating
Terrible shipping. Items will be in limbo for weeks waiting to ship. Regret getting gift cards through them as it sometimes takes over a month for an item to ship. Super great when a lot of these baby items like clothing are only even going to be usable for about a month before the baby outgrows them. Don't recommend buying anything from them.
If I could give zero stars I would. Yes, it's convenient to have all of your items in one place but there are drawbacks. If you are given a gift card you can only use it on baby list items which are often pricey compared to other stores. There's no way to purchase any items from your registry using the funds gifted. The shipping is terrible. Often items are rerouted and you never knew when you will receive your items. I'm pregnant and shouldn't have to worry about simple things like this.
Do NOT use Babylist for a registry. They only do "free returns" if the box is unopened. They delay shipments for WEEKS and don't give you an update. Completion discount didn't apply to an item that was eligible for the discount on Amazon. We had people donate to a fund on Babylist and I wish we hadn't, now we can't get anything because they're going through a "warehouse move" and can't predict when they can ship anything out.
I'm pregnant with my first child and I was COMPLETELY lost with what I would need to prepare for this baby and how to create a list for my baby shower. Babylist makes it super easy by allowing me to shop at a variety of different places and compiling it all into one place. The only negative thing i would say is that I haven't been successful at linking other registries, so I had to find each item individually and add it to Babylist, but I'm sure it's just that I'm doing something wrong.
Love how unique it is. And the option to choose where to purchase from. But I wish I could edit things that people marked reserved or purchased. Also wish there were more batch options. And possibly do away with the reserve option. Either they buy it or don't. It was frustrating that people were "reserving" things but not purchasing. Then leaving it reserved for weeks just to change their minds. Someone else couldve bought those items. And many times it was thing we really wanted or needed.
I love this app! Everything is all in one place and it is so convenient to go to from shopping whichever store you want to registry - all in one app. You can organize your registry into multiple categories, and it is a very smooth experience! I like that you can customize it and leave notes for friends and family, and also mark things as "must need." Sometimes, there is a slight lag, but it's not a problem to just reboot the app and it's good to go! Definitely a must have!
I had tried setting up registries on different sites and tried finding the easiest way to showcase what we needed/wanted, where it was available, price, everything, but that proved surprisingly difficult until I came across babylist! I could kind of rank things, label the most essential must have items, and what I love best is it shows you where you can buy and how much it costs. Instant comparison. So easy for family and friends so they can knock it out quickly! Such a blessing!
Great app, especially if you're like me and don't want to create a registry in a million different stores. Everything you want is in one place, making it easier on friends and family to help shop for a baby shower! I did notice this app isn't compatible with 'The Children's Place' website, where I would like to add to my list but the app won't.. Not too happy about that. If it gets fixed, I'd like to know.
