Review Summary
Users generally appreciate the Redfin app for its ease of use, detailed property listings, and useful features, but many express frustration with persistent technical issues such as app crashes, problems with saved searches, and unreliable filters, leading some to prefer alternative real estate apps.
Refuses to open by default from links in Gmail. Bounces to the website every time, ignoring settings. This app sorely needs a browsing history. I can't begin to count the times I've spent 15-20 minutes or more trying to find a property I was looking at before an app crash, or I've mistakenly closed the app while trying to answer a phone call, or for several other reasons. Aside from that it's a very good app. A bit crash-happy, but a browsing history would compensate for that.
I like this app but I hate how even when a home has the features, if a filter is used to look for them, that home won't show because the realtor only put the features in the description not tag. Makes filters useless. Also it's currently not even letting me search for specific addresses after the last update

For the recently viewed tab at the bottom, there are a few ways to sort, but one option is missed. The option to sort by, ahem, most recently viewed! I'd also like to see, since there is a mortgage calculator to customize, make a mortgage price filter along with the regular price filter. That'd be nice. Other that, I like it. I'm not super focused on buying now, but I like to look. Can also daydream by looking at the crazy expensive houses and seeing what they actually look like inside.
Really used to love this app. Recently, it decided that it would never load the map of a region. Clearing the cache and some other things never changed anything. not sure which update did this, but it's become annoying. Therefore, it's easier to use the website than the app because I can use the map features without issues. So Uninstall this app and on to other things for my property search needs.
There is an annoying bug and no workaround. I have multiple saved searches, I cannot switch among them. When I try to switch to another saved search, it is loading forever and finally stays with the original saved search. I have tried clean caches and data, updated the app and reinstalled app. Nothing helped. Please fix it ! It appears to bd a defect on Android as it works on iPhones.

Unable to view property photos in full screen via the app. There is a constant 'request showing' bar reducing the size of the photos. The app is great for searching in particular areas and listing not only descriptive info but the necessary numbers as well.
Excellent app. Overall I prefer this app to zillow. It's designed much better. Only thing I would suggest is having the ability to filter my favorites list by the same dimensions used in a general search would be a great add. For example when I pull up the 50 homes on my favorite list I may want to filter out the ones that have pools or I may only want to see the ones that are over 3000 Sq ft. Being able to do that would be a great benefit.
Unfortunately, my poor experience came from the fact that there's no oversight on the kind of listing as long as it's rental - like every other housing app, it's completely riddled with rent to own scams on the lower income side of things. The layout is easy to use and intuitive, and it allows more customization of your searches and the ability to save them. A pretty standard feature in apps like this, but it's one that not every such app has.
I really like the way this app is laid out and how easy it is to use. When viewing a listing, seeing the small map icon of the property's location is a great time saver - no need to go to the details if the location isn't desirable. The only thing missing is a view of a crime heat map around the property. When I am viewing a property of interest, I do have to use another app to check crime in the area. I prefer using the Redfin app more than all others I have used so far.
In comparison to similar apps, I have found this one to be the most informative. it gives measurements of rooms & land lots which most of the other apps don't. I also enjoy the many filtering options when trying to search through hundreds of listings. I will say that the new home alerts for listings not matching saved search criteria can be annoying (I dont care to see listings from places that I have ruled out or priced way off from my price parameters).
