Review Summary
Most users find the Rent. Apartments & Homes app to be easy to use and helpful for quickly browsing available listings, but many criticize its search and filter functionality as unreliable, with additional complaints about limited results, incorrect listings, and login issues.
It's ok. Easy to browse through different listings, there's many different options and preferences to choose from. However, their log in features are buggy. I had to reset my password, so they sent a link to my email. The link automatically opened via the app; however, it kept directing me to their Sign Up, not Password Reset. I opened up my search engine with the link provided and reset my password. After doing so, now it's not letting me log in because of an 'authentication' issue.
It is extremely limited and user unfriendly. The map search gets automatically erased constantly. There is absolutely no method to actually filter results. Yes, I do see the filter symbol sometimes, but the majority of the time it is invisible and thus useless. A suggestion is for the "engineers" to spend some time from the perspective of an app user. One cannot even change a password. That's basic stuff that most apps had figured out in 2008. You cannot even send feedback or report a rental.
Lacks the ability to limit results to ONLY the city you're searching. EXAMPLE, run a search in my city, it gives me results of 240 with a good 50 of them being in my area, the rest of them being in towns that are 50 to 75 miles away from me and you absolutely cannot exclude the expanded search. I could understand if there was only a handful available in my area, but there's plenty. More frustrating than worth the effort to use this app.
Hard to find apartments even with filters. The app seems to base your search on price and the bed and bath conditions separately. If I'm looking for something for $2400 and below it will find it. But then it will list that the apartment has the bed and bath I want but it is more than my set price. It doesn't do a search as a group. Sometimes it works but it makes it difficult because not all search results are what I'm looking for or even close to it.

Hi, we are always looking to improve the experience for our users, and really appreciate the feedback. If there is anything specific we can look into, please contact us at [email protected].
Very easy to use app. No crashes, bugs, or ads. Once you add the filters, everything is very streamlined. You type in the area of where you are looking or zoom into it on the map and it shows the prices and locations of available housing. Definitely quicker than using a browser. Would recommend.
You can't draw on the map outside of maybe a 20 mile radius, which makes the entire app useless if you have multiple location options. Also, it is VERY limited in what apartments it shows. It said there was only one apartment listing in all of Charlottesville, while other apps have the true number of options (in the 200s). All in all, wish I hadn't downloaded this app.
It's a shame when I come across a useful app that is well put together and ez to use that it gets low ratings from users who don't understand their negative they give had nothing to do with the app itself! If you see houses while searching for apts, it's because the seller listed the house as apt. A price range search is same in eBay. Ad lists a price range, so if you look for a price, the range will show in results because of seller. None of this is fault of this app! THIS APP'S AWESOME HELPFUL
Literally useless for me, because it will only show listings that are within the actual borders of the city, and there's no option to get rid of the borders.... you can try to use the draw option instead, but it makes you zoom in smaller than the border itself in order to use the draw function! Completely useless. It also says there are no listings for my filters, when on other real estate apps, there's 40-60 listings with the same filters.
It looks nice and is a smooth app, but it's hard to accurately search for places within my budget. I set the filter saying I need 2 bedrooms, but when scrolling through the prices listed on the apartments are showing the price for a studio or 1 bed. I've used other platforms that will show me the price of the number of rooms I ask for on the listing thumbnail, so I don't think it's too big of an ask. It would make the search process so much smoother.
Search feature (you know, the main feature) is awful. More than half of search results are not in my city or even NEAR it. I mean constantly showing me properties that are 1hr+ drive away. Why even bother putting a filter for city? You're better off using literally any other site or app that will actually just show you what is IN the city you searched for, even if there's nothing! (except apartment guide. That's the exact same amount of "here's a listing 2 hours away!")
