Review Summary
Overall, users like the Sweepy: Home Cleaning Schedule app for its ability to structure and break down cleaning tasks, making chores less overwhelming, especially for those with ADHD, though some users report glitches, issues with maintaining streaks, and a need for more customization options.
Game changer because it takes away all the mental/emotional work of cleaning. This takes an up-front commitment to accurately listing everything that needs to be done. I've reduced the "default" frequencies for many of the chores the app provides, because otherwise it gives me too much to do too frequently. Once you get this all set up, it's easy to just follow the list. I give myself 2 "very easy" days per week where I only unload the dishwasher and wipe down sinks.
This app is terrific. I would add an option to be notified at a user input time about tasks you haven't completed yet every day, but otherwise, it's great. The gamification of chores has kept my wife and I on task and our house is cleaner than it has been for a decade. Today, however, the app is refusing to open on either of our Pixel 9 Pro phones... Help, fix it, please.
I love this app. I have ADHD and get so overwhelmed by messes. This app takes the guesswork out of what I should be doing, and breaks it down into small bits. I like that it's a different set of tasks every day for different parts of the house, so you never have to clean an entire room. I don't always finish every task, but when I do as many as I can, I end up with a much cleaner home. My four-year-old loves doing the tasks with me and crossing them off the list. Ding!
I love this app!! But with ADHD, I sometimes forget to check stuff off and then it's 12:01 am and I've lost my streak and wildcards!! 😭 I adjust the date, (because that absolutely helps me keep track of when the last time I did stuff) but I wish it would be "aware" that it was checked off "yesterday" and give me back my streak!!! 🫶🏻 That would be awesome!!!
I like the idea of having different levels of effort for different types of tasks but otherwise this app is frustrating to use, offers no options for exporting your own data out of the app, and requires a premium subscription for a sub-premium offering. I'd encourage others to look elsewhere unless the app you want is super bare bones.
I've only been using Sweepy for a few days but I am already loving it and will be trying out the premium features as well. With my ADHD & general lack of time, I have never been all that great about cleaning and typically only manage to keep up with the bare minimum for my place to not be toxic. Sweepy is helping me structure my cleaning so that it actually gets done. And if a scheduled task is one I just really don't want to do then I pick something else so at least something still gets done.
Good app, I'd like to see a way to set a recurring household thing that isn't cleaning (changing air filter, etc) without having to assign it a cleanliness level. Also big pet peeve, when making a new room, I should be able to make a custom task first without having to make a default one first, I do this a lot and end up having to go back and delete the first task because I didn't need it.
My partner and I have started using this, and it's helping. But I'm really, really frustrated to the point of wanting to delete the app... because you can back date work, so if you do the work but ADHD flake documenting it, your streak goes up in smoke. This has happened to me twice in one week, and it doesn't feel like a game or just adds shame and pressure. I'm only keeping with this app to keep my partner happy.
I really like this app! i think it will be very helpful for keeping our house clean. my only issues so far are the following I haven't figured out how to see tasks you have already completed if that's possible, if not I think that would be a great addition. there seems to be a glitch when scrolling through the task library when accessed from the + button on the to do screen. at a certain point it starts to glitch out and I can't see the tasks. this may be due to too many tasks in one room 🤷
So far, great! *Full disclosure, two parents and five kids from 3 partnerships, ALL of us have neuro-diversity of varying degrees* A few nitpicks... 1) I would love to be able to 'collapse' or hide the notes section. My littles LOVE to see details and step-by-step, but I find that bogs my ability to swipe quick and overview the rooms progress. 2) top area of rooms page should be dismissable. I don't care about holiday contests or backing up data. At least not enough to see it every time.
