Review Summary
While people appreciate the concept and quality of the PhotoShare Frame, they generally dislike the app due to major issues with photo uploads, app functionality, and poor customer support.
I love this frame! My sisters, mom, and mom-in-law each have one. It's wonderful to have one app and be able to send everyone high quality photos any time. I love hearing the little "bling" when new photos come in. We all lose time watching the slideshow from time to time. I'm gifting this to my sister-in-law for her baby shower. She's gonna love it.
This app downloaded a bunch of graphics in my photo gallery when I first loaded it. I didn't even give permission to go into the gallery. I thought I got hacked! But when I looked at the details on one of the photos, it said it was from PhotoShare, with the date that I downloaded the app. I took quite a while to get them all deleted.
Crop feature in the app needs work, all you can do with it is crop the picture into landscape orientation. Also, when looking through the pictures that are on the frame, when you open a pic to full screen and then go back, you can't continue scrolling. Have to close the app and go back in.
Love the frame but the app is a bit challenging. I have 2 frames and periodically they "mix" photos (so my work pics migrate onto my home frame. Also having issues with the on off times. Even though I have a separate schedule for each frame I routinely have to unplug the one at home and turn the work one on by hand. Otherwise, I love the frame (so much that I bought two!)
Their support totally sucks. Told them several problems from display brightness, video sound, clock not supporting landscape, and all I got was try a reset which did nothing. I did a follow up request that was ignored. Even the first request took a couple weeks for a responds. Still waiting for help. I've sent pictures of the problem three times now. And all they say is load v2 app. I have v2 app. They just don't listen to my problem. I'm a software developer and an IT guy. I know junk product.
When it works, it's fine, but about 99% of the time, the app won't load my pictures from my photo gallery. I'm lucky if 2 or 3 pictures out of 50 show up. It really defeats the purpose if I can't pull up the photos I want to send to my family. I have also checked that the app is updated (it is) and tried un-installing and re-installing the app. Same issues.
Very disappointed with the app. It will not populate ALL the photos that were sent to my frame. If I want to edit photos, they have to be done 1 at a time. then wait again for the photos to download on the app - and only about 50% of them show up. Would like to be able to send photos from facebook and google, The app settings won't save. Set the brightness and the timer for auto on and off, but they default back to original settings. The website doesn't recognize my frame id and i cannot login.
Developed by people that don't care. First of all, it asks for way too much access to your phone. Why does it need location? The link in the email goes to an old app. The instructions state passwords must have upper and lower case and numbers. You must also have special characters. Anyway, this app was not made by a serious company at the very least. At the most, it's a security risk.
Grandparents love their frame and the whole family sends photos to it. Sometimes the app does not seem to recognize all my photos in my camera roll so I can't always send everything that I want to send, but overall the app works pretty well and the experience is enjoyable for all. As others have said, I wish I could see which photos I have already sent.
The PhotoShare Frame is a good quality. The PhotoShare Frame app, the one the manual tells you to use, and the second app, this one, which you have to upload because the first doesn't work with PhotoShare Frame ID, are awful. Customer Support is nonexistent. No response to email. Over an hour on hold by telephone with no answer. Husband Googled the solution so in the end, no help from the company. If you're reading this and you kept the packaging, return frame to store and get something else.
