Roku Smart Home

I have multiple Roku cams - indoor, outdoor, doorbell, & the 360. ALL of them including this app are extremely unreliable. They constantly can't be connected to. And when you need to reboot your router, at least half of the Cams fail to reconnect & need a pwr cycle, UNLIKE every other device in my home (including my Roku Ultras and laptops). This intermittency is consistent with this app & the Roku Cameras app. The issue is not my network. It's the Roku cams, the h/w, f/w and/or s/w.

Awfully Slow. Poor operation and features for a subscription based video monitoring service. Price should be $0.49/month. Needs major updates with basic connection. App is one dimensional and weak. I'm still waiting for the app to open for live video. Wyze cameras run circles around Roku at this price point & with no subscription needed.

Let me paint a picture for you: you purchase multiple cameras and have the $9.99 monthly subscription plan. The day there's a security emergency and you log in to get the video, it's nothing but an almost useless picture. The cameras stopped recording events because the app claims you don't have a subscription. Then you spend almost 2 hours on the phone with their support only to be told to update the app that you already told them you just reinstalled. Don't choose Roku! I'm so disappointed!

Ever since adding a 3rd outdoor camera the app has randomly stopped recording clips. I won't notice until hours later. The only way to fix it is to uninstall and reinstall the app. Extremely dangerous and unsettling to know about 8 hrs of today had zero footage. Resetting the camera doesn't work. I check the system for updates that doesn't work. I force close the app, that doesn't work either. Only uninstalling and reinstalling.

8/18/24 - Man. If it isn't broke, don't fix it, guys. This app used to work at least pretty good. Now it's rubbish. Can't zoom in good like I used to. The feed is SLOW. Used to actually be smooth. Now I get a frame a second. For real. It's so jumpy. If it's not fixed soon, I'm going to find a different brand to go with. I pay 10 a month for this nonsense! Update - 8/29/2024 - Still not working right after update. All cameras laggy. Internet speed great. New updates are trash. Bout to switch.

very unreliable notifications with the subscription. would hate to see how this thing works without it when the free trial runs out. I wouldn't recommend this camera if that service were free. definitely not having to pay for it. The camera itself is super wide angle, making it almost impossible to identify anything even on a 60-in big screen TV. any bright light, and by that I mean a light bulb, or a window during daytime, Make the camera flare the image. Set up was very easy.

Great app, great pricing. It only records sound and motion (not 24/7), but I've only needed that. Recording 24/7 just clogs up storage with hours of stillness. Love the automation. Set it up so bedroom light flashes green for motion on doorbell. So I know something's out there even if they don't ring the doorbell. That being said, it would be great to add a feature to return the light to it previous state before the trigger. Right now the light will be off, triggered, and then it stays on.

Horrible app! The concept of the Roku Smart plug is fantastic, the execution is another awful story, it is not user friendly or intuitive in any capacity. No matter how you try to schedule each socket, only one will work at a time, if we're doing it wrong, there's no real way to know for sure but both, I tried and my partner tried, I wind up having to use the app to turn on/off. Also good luck finding this app on your phone, it doesn't come up as Roku, it comes up when you search "smart" 😒

Subscription price... OKAY👍🏽 . But i been having issues with the cameras.. they need to find the problem and fix the bug they have. When i record Manuel it doesn't save the recording and MOST OF ALL the time-lapse recording, setting it up is easy and it records and it saves in the album.. when clicking the download it dos start to download it but always freezes at 99% download and crashes. File is lost. This happens all the time.. IT'S NOT MY PHONE. ITS THE APP.

I have added two other camera systems to my home security since Roku degraded the UHD resolution earlier this year. They work infallible, while Roku usually fails to access its own cameras. This, of course, renders them useless for their sole function--security. Additionally, I often have to input a new code to get the app to load. This occurs about once out of three times I attempt to open the app. It would be impossible for me to be more disappointed with Roku.
