I signed up a week ago and was in the middle of discussing scheduling with a contractor when I opened the app and found that I was unexpectedly logged out. When I try to log back in, it says "We encountered an error, please try again." It does this consistently. To make matters worse, there is no way to get in contact with their support team if you are not able log in. So incredibly frustrating.
Generally pleased with our first experience with the app. Only complaint was that it suggested a couple of businesses that were states away. Not sure how this happened but good communication with the businesses that reached out to us ensured that we understood where each was physically located. Everyone was very kind and pleasant and understood when we couldn't work with them. Good messaging within app.

Amazing! Professional and 20+ years of experience, and it shows. They came out on the appointed time and date. Did an excellent job and was very economical with the price. They replaced 8 screen windows and were done in under an hour. I'm happy with the job and would recommend Better View Mobile Screens. Do hire them. You won't regret it. 😊

This was my first time using ThumbTack, and the experience was great. The main reason I decided to use the thumbtack app is because they do background checks on the service providers. I needed carpet, padding, and tack strips removed from a bedroom. After contacting the handyman in the morning, the job was completed that day. The total job was completed in three hours.

Downloaded for a specific job and contractor. Ended up getting contacted by other vendors and other jobs. Got way too many notifications and requests. It required my email address. Now I get spam. Deleted the app. Still get spam. When I went to unsubscribe it takes me to s sign-in page for the app, so can't unsubscribe without signing in!?! BS. Might work for some, but wrong app for me.
Like the idea of this app, but it could use a little work. It would be nice if there was a way to validate the licensure of contractors without having to ask each time. I don't like asking as I think it gives an impression of distrust or skepticism off the bat. If this was part of each pro's profile, that would really make things easier. Also, for some reason, I don't get new message notifications despite having push notifications enabled. I frequently have to recheck the app as a result.

Great concept but the app is garbage. After installing, it requires I verify my email. I click on the link that says "Go to the app" but get an error message "Sorry, looks like there was an error completing your reuest." Called customer service which is based overseas and they have not idea. Massive waste of time. Just look for the best providers on Yelp and bypass this not-ready-for-prime-time app. Extremely dissapointing.

In many ways I like this app and the service. What is really a pain though is not having a way to archive and delete messages. I'm not interested in keeping all the messages I receive. Having to wade through messages I don't want is a pain. It makes finding the right ones time consuming. Being able to archive messages I want to save but won't review often would be helpful. Being able to delete those I don't want would be even better-- and it would take up less memory on my phone!
A confusing mess. I submitted a project. Then I received names of four contractors. Entered app on laptop, but told that there it doesn't recognized me. Entered by phone, and my project had disappeared. Meanwhile, I'm getting emails from contractors sent to my email account, but I cant access them without logging into app. Once in app, it's all gone. Deleting.

I've used the Thumbtack app on two occasions when I needed some local movers. The app is easy to use. Thus far, the contractors have been pretty responsive, and I really like the fact that the app allows you to have direct communication with the contractors which allows you to better communicate the services you need and negotiate rates (something the Bunji app does not allow, which is a huge turn off). I would definitely recommend Thumbtack to others and will continue to use it myself.
