Users are largely dissatisfied with the Google Home app, frequently reporting issues such as unstable connections, difficulty managing and controlling devices, errors in routine execution, unreliable device synchronization, and a poor user interface that has allegedly worsened with recent updates.
Maddeningly convoluted interface. Missing really basic abilities, like adding/editing/removing devices, rooms, and homes. Edit: more research reveals that I probably encountered some edge cases. Still, the only solution I could find was to delete the entire home and set it up from scratch. Not ideal. Appreciate the response from the dev.

Have been using and loving the eco system for at least four years now. Everyday to play music through the house. They pushed an update and it's TERRIBLE. Can't create a speaker group. Devices are showing up 6+ times when managing room devices. Showing duplicates of speakers when trying to cast audio so you don't know which one it actually is. Speakers disconnect randomly. I factory reset every. Single. Devices, which doesn't do anything since the app is broken. HOW DO YOU BREAK THE APP THIS BAD.

latest update (using public preview) the device layout has changed dramatically (much worse) and device access and control, ie, "her Google, play music on the main pair", no longer works. doesn't respond in any way, connection to spotify is no longer reliable. effectively app functionality has stepped back about 2-2.5 years!! this in the wrong direction people! what's going on???? here's the new/latest layout!
The new gemini AI addition removed the ability to broadcast from the app! I don't even use gemini, but I did the use broadcast! I've been super annoyed with this app already bc of things like not being able to set alarms through it, the automations being off on timing or sometimes just not working, etc. Please fix these issues!

Works most of the time. But sometimes things don't work as they should such as continued conversation was not showing for one of the Google mini. I had to unlink it and then add it again to the home. Supported devise like Bose soundbar doesn't work with the assistant. Tried link and unlink few times, still no luck. Sending feedback about the issue has been pointless as well.

I loved using this app in the past. It made my house and life so much more enjoyable and easy to manage. Unfortunately I've been having issues with it disconnecting from speakers and television randomly during casting. I've tried updating the app but I am unable to. Google Play Store says it can not be updated and gives me a circle arrow to try again or an X to cancel. Google, please help.

Today google home has decided it can't do routine anymore. If I talk to a google home device it says it can't understand the simple commands like "good night". If I go into the app on my phone and select the "bedtime" routine, all it wants to do is set an alarm. I can manually control each device through the app on my phone, but it can't do anything with a voice command. Now the google home devices are 100% useless and a complete waste of money. Don't tell me to fix it, you fix it.

Not the most user friendly app. I dislike the way it's laid out. Apps don't let you review what they are about before downloading. Uninstalling the apps is not easy. All the good features/apps cost extra $$$ - no freebies here. This is another 1/2 finished Google product....potential to be awesome though. The Google home app stopped holding the temperature and reverting back to whatever the temperature was before. Basically the hold button does absolutely nothing and ends up using more energy

For some reason lately, Google home hub has been telling us informational weather in Celsius. While this isn't difficult to know/convert to Fahrenheit, I'm still wondering what the issue is. The settings for the app and account is set to Fahrenheit. I've cleared cache, reset the system a couple of times, and even set the account settings to Celsius and then back to Fahrenheit to see if it would correct itself. Nothing is working unfortunately.

Update January 29th. App suddenly started working this afternoon. First beta update of Android 16 seems to have broken Google home. Try to open app and it immediately closes. Tried rebooting. Same thing happens Update. I did contact support as suggested by the Google person here. However, they could not in the end give any update and just gave me another leak so I could leave feedback for Google engineers. I did uninstall the app and reinstall. App seems to start to open then closes.
