Smart Life - Smart Living

I've used this app as a remote for my lamp for a few years, and it has worked fine. But for whatever reason, since the latest update, it is just not working whatsoever. I hit the button that should turn the device that functions my lamp to turn on, but nothing happens. I could tap the button once, twice, a dozen times, and nothing. I even plugged and un-plugged and nothing helped. Lame.

Works okay but buggy. Especially since the update, getting my devices to load takes way longer than before. I keep a shortcut for my lights on my home screen and usually i have to click it, wait a while, go to the main app screen, then go back to the light in order for it to connect, which is very annoying. Sometimes it takes multiple tries. It used to just be slow to connect but now I have to go in and out.

After the update my lights no longer stay off. After being off for a few minutes, they automatically try to reset and I have to re add them to the app, only to do it again and again everytime I turn them off through the app. I am going to get rid of them now because I can't sleep!! They won't turn off!!! They just freak out and turn on and off and even flash red occasionally. FIX IT!!! THIS IS TERRIBLE!! Update after 2 days of bs: my lights will no longer connect to the app. Trashing them now.

I have humidity monitors, dozens of lights, outlets and switches, irrigation devices. They all work flawlessly and best of all I dont need to have a bunch of different apps on my phone. While the scheduling options are not that friendly I use Alexa routines to accomplish everything I need. Update- the most recent update made it very user unfriendly. Scenes are running that I can't find or edit. I removed a star

I have used a lot of smart home devices over the past decade, and only one other brand has come close to being this poor of an experience connecting devices. Instructions in app contradict the ones in the manual and do not seem consistent. Getting through the connection process feels like guesswork, and fail any which way you try, even when reconnecting devices to networks that previously worked.

No longer able to adjust schedule (or what they are now calling "timing"). I can schedule something to go ON but can't add any other action to the same device (like OFF) without the app freezing and having to be restarted. Major bug. It appears this applies to the interface for the outdoor power strips. I'm still able to adjust schedules on my indoor plugs.

*Update* Another app update just came out today, and it solved ALL of the issues I was having with the previous version. Kudos to Volcano for addressing the problems so quickly! Great Customer Service! WiFi signal strength display for my smart cameras is now broken in the latest app update. Also, none of the settings work now for one of my older cameras. That camera works fine but I can no longer change any of its settings. The app just sort of locks up when I try.

I had this app working with my Google nest mini. Then I changed one of the lights I wanted to control with the plugs and I keep being told the smart life app won't link to my Google account to control the plugs by voice. Now all the the plugs are off line and no matter what I try I'm not able to get them to reconnect. Google keeps telling me there is something wrong with the app that it will not connect to Google.

This new interface/update sucks, instead of everything being on the home screen of the app, with the rooms just a swipe away now you have to click on rooms list and then filter per room, it's extra steps that takes much longer then it did on the old interface. I wonder who actually thought this was a good idea....please pull a sonos and kill this update and roll it back to the last interface.

My experience with these bulbs was excellent. They were so easy to connect to my Alexa. They work perfectly with my phone. I have them in my bathroom. I can set them to music through my ceiling light speaker, and they flash and change color while the music is playing. It's like being at a club in my bathroom. Will definitely purchase another set from Amazon. The app works very well. I gave it a 5 star rating. It deserves a 10 star rating. Love it.
