Review Summary
Users have largely negative feedback about the Home AI - AI Interior Design app, noting issues with unauthorised charges during the "free trial," poor design capabilities, and difficulty in cancelling subscriptions, with many stating that the app's functionality is limited, glitchy, and does not justify its cost.
signed up for a "free trial" today, but got immediately charged. please cancel any membership immediately, and revoke my subscription. no trial period, with the audacity to set up a recurring annual subscription! I wouldn't even be THAT upset if the app provided a single iota of help, but NOPE, the app is a glorified IG filter. you upload your room pics, and all it does is apply hideous, wannabe filters (i.e., luxury, modern, baroque, etc) 🤮🤮🤮 refund me my money ASAP, please!
This app is absolutely terrible. Even if it were free, it wouldn't be worth it. Google won't provide a refund despite this app failing to redesign anything substantially. The biggest limitation (other than that it isn't useful) is that the app relies on the camera's field of view, which is incredibly tight on phones. As a result, the app can only "design" a small part of a wall or a corner. Then, you have to choose from 8 styles and watch that tiny corner change color slightly. Terrible.
The app is 'so so'. I say this because you can't really take a 360 degree Pic of your space so the resulting design pictures only give you a partial view of your space as opposed to the whole room. And while the resulting photos provide some design ideas, I feel that I can go on Pinterest and get design photos for free. Not worth the subscription fee.
I tried the app on free trial. Though the theme usage is good with AI generation, the object replacement or, in general, anything on the floor or around gets converted to an object and is very glitch. It didn't even place a dresser, it just added some books on a plank. I tried a few different angles and rooms and I wasn't really happy with the results.
Rough to judge this app. There is no portion of it that is free, so I'm not sure if it is any good. I won't use the free trial because I do not like having to jump through hoops to cancel an app subscription. But, other than having problems taking pics with this app and progressing further with continue buttons that choose whether or not they wish to work at any given time, it looks like it could be interesting. But you'll never know until you cough up some cash. I'll never know.
While it can be helpful for envisioning a project, it was pretty glitchy on my phone. phone. I decided to cancel my subscription which was a little bit of a stressful process since I had to do it through Google Play. I initially thought I was stuck with it. I was able to figure it out though. If you're an interior design die hard, this might be a little bit simplistic for you, but if you just want a little help getting inspo, this could do it.
Very impractical. No intuition from the AI. Uses clutter (like boxes from actively moving into a new space) in an empty room as a spot to put a stool or something that wants to be decor....like a weird placemat just on the floor?... which is something other AI apps do too, but at least other apps didn't charge me immediately for poor excuse of a design app. I guess I'll have to see if it keeps charging me since there is no way to end the trial in the app itself. I fell for this scam, oh well.
Claims it offers a 3 day free trial. Yet you have to enter a credit card to even get that free trial!!??? I'm not entering my card for something that's supposed to be free. Needed for an auto renewal? How about a free trial, risk free, with no card and add a card if you want to continue? Instead of you having my card and me having to remember to cancel it if I don't like it. That feels safer to me. I won't be trying your app and giving it a shot. A free trial shouldn't require entering a card.
I canceled after 1 week. The app incorporates clutter into the final image instead of removing it. For example a loose string on the floor of a room would remain in the image, albeit with some beautification!! A bigger issue, however, is that it doesn't work with empty rooms and needs existing furniture to really do its thing. Also, it doesn't offer much beyond different colors/styles. It would be far more useful if it offered different layouts and arrangements of the pieces. Many other issues 2
I'd give zero stars if I could. First, it asks for a review before you can even use the app, likely inflating the review score. Second, the subscription is more expensive if you use the 3-day free trial, going from $4.99 to $6.99 a week. Lastly, no matter how many times I restart, delete, reinstall, and allow all permissions, it won't let me take a picture of my space, COMPLETELY defeating the purpose of the app. No thank you.
