People generally do not like the RentCafe Resident app, citing numerous bugs and issues such as sessions timing out without warning, difficult setup, frequent logouts, problems with auto payments, high processing fees, inability to log in, and overall instability and inconvenience. However, some users do find it useful for making rent payments and requesting maintenance when it works properly.
Can't view or download my documents. App will sign you out regularly WITHOUT WARNING if you're composing a message in a text field (such as a maintenance request), so you'll lose your work if you don't remember to copy. This is an extremely frustrating waste of time and is utterly unacceptable. A sign of incompetent coding.
This app never updates to the yearly rent increase automatic and causes a bunch of late fees, and now i'm behind on rent with the late fees. Also, I've been enrolled in auto payment this whole time for the 1st of every month, but I can't even may a payment on the past due balance because it won't let me. Now I have to get a cashier check. What an inconvenience, and idk what the point of the automatic payment is then. This is such a big problem.
App is excellent for making rent and utilities payments and request maintenance. However, I wish events, announcements, etc.. (can't remember everything that's on there right now), would have information for our property! That's the only issue I have! Otherwise, I feel that my information is secure, unlike my previous apartments payment site, where I would NEVER make payments ever! Always paid with a money order.
Make sure to save messages that you are writing by copying the text as you go along. This app will sign you out "due to inactivity," and you will lose all work (Even when you are typing a message the entire time). It has done this since I first started using it in April of 2024. This bug was reported previously and has not been fixed. It is frustrating to lose work like this. Please respond to this feedback and let me know how you are fixing this problem. Thanks!
Keep getting "Your session has timed out due to inactivity. Please sign in again" error. The app used to work fine for me until 12/25. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, clearing cache, logging in with a different resident email, using a different phone, etc but nothing worked! Don't know what else to do to log back in to the app...
this app is a pain. I had so much trouble just setting it up in the first place. now, after login, it kicks me out and says "your session has timed out due to inactivity. please sign in again. this happens with bio and password login. it continues after clearing cache and unistalling & reinstalling. seems to not work at all.
I like the app it's very convenient as it is but if I could do daily autopayments (ex: $5+ / daily from my own &/or multiple banks & cards)... & also if the app allowed me to pay it in payments or in full even when late so I'll barely have to log in, do physical payments & still make sure everything's paid off simultaneously id give the app 5 stars! You can manually which I appreciate but if yall updated the app to allow users to do that aswell, I'd never be late EVER again!!!
You're already paying high rent & then this app want to charge $9.95 processing fee.....where I live has the option for us to use this app, be glad when they find a different one, I usually just take check to the drop box one minute from where I live. This app did have five stars a couple of years ago, now with each update seemingly gets worse every time
Haven't had many issues yet. Only issue I've noticed is when the Office holds a package for me, I'm supposed to see my package info emailed to me through their provided link. Yet when I follow the link there is no package information within this app or even a package category within the app. It's not the end of the world and everything else runs fine!
Was using this for paying my rent. The it decided to start logging me out with an "your session timed out due to inactivity message" immediately after logging in. When I tried reaching out to the Email that shows in this app store I got an automated email back saying that they don't read this email and will be deprecating it, and that I should reach out to my apartment manager. The apartment people have nothing to do with this app. So now the app is just inaccessible with no hope of solution
