Most users do not like the Discovery+ app, citing excessive and repetitive ads, frequent freezing, limited content availability, issues with subscription management, and difficulties in navigation and playback as major drawbacks.
The ads constantly freeze. To rectify this, you have to back out of the ads/show. Then, when you go back in, the ads restart and force you to watch them over again. This can happen multiple times in a row, causing you to watch ads for 10 minutes.Update: 1/20/25 The app on all of my TVs and phone continues to freeze during ads. Now, you don't have to rewatch the ads. You just have to go back out of the show and back in after every ad plays. π₯΄ Clearing cache doesn't help! Fix the app.

this app is the only thing I watch but it seems like more and more shows are disappearing. I no longer have access to any History Channel shows, a number of shows are missing seasons, how a show with 9 seasons starts with season 3 and only has 4 seasons available is ridiculous. I thought the point of paying for streaming services like this was to have access to the full catalog of shows. At this rate it's just like the cable company. gotta pay for access to certain channels. I'm ready to cancel.

Your app is total garbage. It constantly forgets where I left off in a series, often "resuming" several episodes back that were previously watched. The Google TV app conveniently has the "play" button disappear if you leave the app and return to resume your show. THE MOST IMPORTANT BUTTON IN THE APP just straight up disappears and even the "play/pause" button on the remote won't get the show to play. It's a glaring problem that has been ongoing for several months, and a reinstall does nothing.

There is no way to turn off auto play crazy for 2024. Only 8 shows allowed on continue watching like really, why would that be limited .and only a certain amount of shows on My list before they start to disappear until you delete some than they reappear only service i seen have this issue.Discovery plus is not even trying to update this app. It has been like this since launch. Raised price with still low class app. If they would fix these few issues, it would be a great app and service

As someone who enjoys the TLC content on discovery+, I feel that the value of this app has gone down drastically since launch. I used to have exclusive content, as well as early access to the latest episodes. Now I entire outdated seasons dumped on me all at once after cable viewers have been enjoying it for weeks; I have to wait until Monday to watch my Sunday night shows, when I used to be able to watch on Sunday morning BEFORE the cable viewers.

I accidentally did the ad version instead of the ad free and nothing will let me change it! Cant upgrade it through the website, app or through the google app. So frustrating i just decided I'd cancel the subscription and deal with bs ads until NEXT MONTH so I can upgrade π‘π‘ EDIT: I contacted discovery+ support like you said to do, only for them to tell me to contact google support. The review stays the same.

It used to be good. The ads are ridiculous, you can't advance to a part you missed without having to watch 5 ads. I don't pay any attention to the ads. That's when I go to the bathroom. It's really a time thing. Steadily raising the price to watch stuff that I already watched. Not much new content, at least for the shows that aren't about someone's love affairs. Probably gonna dump this app

So, over the course of a 2 year subscription I've seen shows taken down, a hike in subscription cost and more and more adds. In short, less content, more cost and more forced adds. At this point, I'm watching whatever new episodes of my favorite shows, that have been canceled, that they decide to air, and canceling my subscription.

Will not be renewing. Have wasted hours trying to upgrade to ad-free but it's impossible. I cannot take another sec of the BK or Jardiance commercials. You can only upgrade if you cancel and open a new account per 1 hour of technical support. App constantly loses its place. When I reopen the app, I have to watch 10 minutes of ads guessing where I left off. HBO Max is a better option with same content. Update: Obviously by the response, they didn't read my post fully. I have contacted support .

Been trying to change to ad free for a week now...it's virtually impossible. Way too many ads, but love all the shows you have on here. Their live chat was not working right. I followed the directions to change my subscription and after I cancel my subscription, there's no option to upgrade. Other than that great app.
