Reviews Summary
People generally do not like the DramaBox app, criticizing it for being outrageously expensive, having very short and repetitive episode segments, and being riddled with numerous ads that are often longer than the actual content. Several users also expressed frustration with in-app glitches, poor customer service, and issues with coin rewards and membership fees, although a small number of users appreciate the convenience of short episodes despite these drawbacks.
The stories/clips are rather cheesy, but still catches your attention. To get coins you have to watch 2 ads for 2 coins, when you need 5+ coins per episode. Which the ads tend to freeze regularly. You can pay for membership, either $17.99/week, or $199.99/year, with unlimited access to all series. Or pay $2.99 for 30 coins, or $4.99 for 50 coins.
This app has a few decent movies but it takes forever to watch them if you don't pay for a subscription. I feel that most of the time the ads are longer than the "episodes" if you can really call them that. It's just so annoying to have to watch it this way. I feel it's gotten even worse with the more series that I watch. It feels like they speak nonsense and repeat themselves to make more episodes. It's worse than filter episodes in anime.
OUTRAGEOUSLY PRICED. Don't bother. $72 a month to watch 2 minute episodes. Unless you buy coins in packs, which is even more expensive, since episodes are 5 coins each. Don't bother getting interested because it will cost you $20-30 to finish just one if it's 50-60 episodes at $5 for 50 coins. You could buy a digital movie, a series online, even a hard copy DVD series cheaper. YouTube shorts are actually free, too. Save yourself time & believe the reviews.
I like the short dramas, but trying to look up by actor would be nice. Also paid for coins and didn't receive them. I also don't mind watching the ads, but you spend more time watching those than the time you watch the short clips. (UPDATE: Did everything to report to them about not receiving the coins, but they don't even respond. So lowered rating and will be getting rid of the app.
I'm disappointed. I love watching the movies, but my ability to watch commercials for more points to unlock shows is "conveniently" blocked due to videos not being available to play. $5 and some change to buy 50 points sounds a little extravagant to watch 10 3 minute movies when a whole series probably takes 50 episodes. If my income was a little more disposable, I really wouldn't be taking this as hard as I am.
Drama Box makes money from you watching videos, that they charge the companies based on how many watch these videos. But they price gouge to us the end users. You receive very little for watching these ads. It's irritating to not be able to watch the full movie when having to wait 24 hours to get free coins. The coins are so little in value, that it's not worth it. I've decided to not watch the movies that are very good, but price gouging along with no value to watching the ads. Deleting app.
17.99 for all series 1 week. 199 all series for a year. Or you can buy coins to unlcok episodes but that costs more just to buy out one story. The clips you see in ads are actually combined episodes. Each episode is a couple minutes. So the actual story depending as a whole could end up about the length of a long movie or two. You only get the first 10 or so episodes free to watch each story. Unless one of those ads really got you hooked and you want to finish it, this isn't worth it.
go somewhere else, this app is money hungry. it was good for the first 5 minutes, until I ran out of coins. then they wanted me to pay $18 a week or $5 for 50 coins. each episode costs 5 coins and are no more than 5 minutes, feels like 2. if you don't want to pay, you have to watch an ad after each episode but you only get 5 ads. after which it's pay or don't watch.
Lots of ads. The stories are all recycled. Like 90% of the stories are just reworks of one story, so basically you watch one all the way through you've watched most all the way through. However, my biggest frustration is the pricing. The episodes are about 30 seconds each, and you can watch an ad of equal or greater length to unlock an episode. All in all, there are better apps available. This would be worth having if it were 90% less for annual.
Ehhh... the few shows that are in the ads, like 3 of them, are good. The episodes are very short, like 8 or 9 mins total. So if you really want to see this, say for 1 week and you can watch every single show in that time. Most of the acting is horrible, and the plots are all the same. If you don't want to pay, you have to watch an ad between every single 8 minute episode so it gets annoying fast because the ads are super long.
