Reviews Summary
Users generally dislike the Xbox app due to several issues, including persistent sign-in problems, unreliable remote play and cloud streaming, frequent crashes, and poor performance when navigating features, which significantly hampers the user experience.
Apparently cloud streaming isn't a thing. I thought "everything is an Xbox." Remote play seemed to work, except I had no controls on my Odin 2 Mini. I don't know if that's an app issue or a device issue, but when I opened the Xbox guide menu, the controls would navigate through that. Close that out and back into a game, no controls. The on-screen touch controls work, but I'm not playing a game like that. So this app is basically useless.
So, this app is basically useless just taking up storage space on you phone apparent. I have cleared the cache, cleared data, uninstalled and reinstalled and I still keep getting the same error. I cannot sign in at all and couldn't even set my Xbox up through the app. Can we not work the app unless the Xbox is on and we are near it?! I'm really not understanding. I've never ever had a problem with the PlayStation app, just saying. I just got this Xbox and this looks quite shotty on y'all's end.
I like it a lot especially being able to talk to the party using your phone but transition between console and phone is annoying when you want to use a headset. Also feel that the app needs a bit of an overhaul when it comes to saying if you want to bug games on the mobile app as opposed to showing install and you don't own a game and install it thinking it is free just to see you need to pay for it after signing onto the console.
Normally, I don't rate apps. However, I will make an exception this time. The app is useful, to a degree. It is good to talk to gaming friends for mobility - when you can't use the console. However, it has its complications. It glitches out. If I'm using my tablet or phone to talk, it sometimes states that my friends in the Xbox party are disconnected when they are not or kicks me out after some time. In addition, whenever I speak using the app on my phone or tablet, I echo, sounding terrible.
It's so close to being perfect. The user interface is extremely clean and very fluid especially when compared to the old Xbox app, and it functions as intended. The remote play is actually very good for me with barely any input delay or lag, but it happens occasionally. The one thing that kills it for me though, is the remote control, it's so unusable now with heavy delay and it straight up doesn't work most of the time. I used this feature a lot to send messages, please fix this...
Terrible. Suddenly stopped working. I have ultimate, so I should be able to play on my phone, or PC or console no problem. Nope ! I go from having this access for a few years, to nothing. This just started a few hours ago. I tried everything, deleting and redownload, restart devices. Nothing except console. No PC access, no phone access. Why ?
It was working perfectly fine and then one day it just didn't allow me to sign in. I see a few other people have had this issue dating back to 2024. I have captures and videos on there I need and I can't even access them now. Which is awesome because it's not like I use that for my gaming content or anything :) it's even better that people keep having this same issue and nothing is done about it :)))
Been using the app for about four or five years and let me tell you it is one of the worst apps to deal with. Constantly bugging out and everytime I open up the app it gives me a somethings wrong error. As a huge fan of xbox this app has been a disappointment and honestly with the amount off money that is poured into Microsoft it's unacceptable!
I am curious as to why accessibility search features are only available by searching the whole library. I pay for a game pass. Why are there zero filter options, let alone any options to search specifically for the features we need. You want to sound like you're accommodating on your support page. but you seem to do the opposite too. is gamepass all together not supportive of diverse needs? I don't get it.
Barely works; everything takes incredibly long to load. You may be waiting close to a minute to let a 15s game clip buffer so you can rewatch half of it and then wait some more. The remote feature doesn't work - it tells me my console is on when it's not, and I can't remotely operate it. The app has been a total pain to use for quite some time. It would be really convenient if it truly worked.
