Users have mixed feelings about the GoodShort app, with many criticizing its high costs, frequent ads, short episodes, and repetitive content, though some still find the stories entertaining enough to warrant short-term use.
A little pricey. I don't usually spend money on apps like these, but I was enjoying the show even if it was a bit cheesy. I paid 14.99 for 1500 coins and over half of the "episodes" were ones they had already played in the ad. And apparently the farther you get in the more expensive it is. It started out 50 coins, and now (whatever episode I'm on) it's 70 coins. I would have liked to see the end but I'm not about to waste any more money. I can go to an actual theater movie for the same price
The stories are entertaining, but each episode is 50 coins. The bonuses are worth only 2 to 4 coins. The episodes are about a minute long, but you will end up watching about 20 minutes of ads to make enough for the 1 one minute episode. After I finish this story, I will delete this app, not worth it at all. I gave a 5 star because I know it will be read, and I will get 10 coins to help finish the story. download if you can deal with this setup.
Movies/shows are about as long as the ads, then you can only watch 5 ads per day without paying. I wouldn't mind paying but the price is way too high for these types of films. They don't even "act". They dress up and talk, standing in 1 space the majority of the film. Still, they are good at pulling you (me) in making me want to see more.
As much as I enjoy the lady billionaire, I'll be uninstalling this app. I've paid $9.99 on 2 occasions and am not about to pay again, just to start from the beginning AGAIN and get no further than what I have already viewed for free, AGAIN. It would have been nice to be able to find a help link. Evidently, I was looking in all of the wrong places. Given the number of reading/writing apps available, I'm certain that I can find the text version of this story on one of them.
I love the stories, it is a little hard to get through then with only getting 5 free chapters a day (by watching ads) to watch any more of the stories you have to buy or earn points which is a lot of ad watching or money....it can get expensive. And the chapters are a little short but they are still very intriguing just wish I could watch more without paying for it so much.
The stories and actors are some of the best on the apps like these. I've tried several, and they are not close to this one. Even though you can watch so many reels each day and continue on like that, I find it worth the month charge to watch unlimited shows continuously. If I want to, I can stop the charge and add it again later.
Both this & reel short have pop ups that can't be dismissed so they hijack the entire screen. Unless developers resolve this I'll be uninstalling these apps from my phone. The stories are good but I really don't need the distraction or time suck these are. I got hooked on 1 story from each. Once those 2 are completed, I'll most likely remove the apps. If you're really bored & have a lot of time on your hands this is great entertainment. However if you're a busy professional, avoid these.
Developer response:
Hi ,You can submit your problem and user ID to the online service. We will handle it for you as soon as possible.
DON'T DO IT! It cost me $50 for 2 movies! DONE! I caved to the adds & finally downloaded the GoodShort App. Knew not to subscribe from previous reviews cause it doesn't let you unsubscribe & its $20/week! Every segment is 50 coins & 1 of the 2 series I just watched had 86 segments! A full series of segments is essentially a short, horribly acted movie which was completely predictable from the beginning. Not gonna lie-acting was so bad that it was somewhat entertaining. Don't be dumb like me!
I do enjoy the stories. The app itself is just too expensive, especially since it seems to be like watching a movie novel. There are too many streaming services, and even though these are like true novels put to the tv screen, and supposedly we won't see them on other streaming platforms, it is not worth the weekly subscriptions. The ads are too frequent.
I really like the stories on this app. But the constant freezing. And I mean you have to skip episodes frozen. I've been on this app for a few months and it still freezes. After my sub is up I'll be deleting. I really only get to see half of a show with all the freezing. Please and I'll be back .
