Reviews Summary
User reviews for Plex: Stream Movies & TV are mixed; some appreciate the app for its free access to decent-quality movies and TV shows, while many others express frustration with persistent bugs, excessive advertising, and poor technical support, especially regarding remote access and streaming on mobile or TV platforms.
Plex has a lot of advertising. Plex is very slow when uploading new programs. it is not a bad form of entertainment and it is free. at this stage of development I don't think it can replace Hulu, Pluto, Tubi, Amazon prime, or Netflix. I won't give up my cable TV at this stage of the game but Plex is not a bad thing.
For listening to your own music files through the Plex desktop app, the mobile app SUCKS! This is the free version, It plays about 40 seconds of the track, then stops. Returns to the album or artist info and that is it. Hit play again, it plays for 40 or so seconds and stops. Doesn't matter if it's the same artist, album, track or a different one, something happens. Guess I will go back to Fubar.
Wonderful program. love the latest version and new features & layout. The only rough spot is the remote access. I have been a full member for nearly 10 years, and I mostly can only manage indirect connection outside of my home network. its very fussy. understandable 7-10 years ago, but nowadays, this should be extremely simple to connect, flexible and safe. It should also easily connect via any of the top 3 vitural private networks (ex ExpressVPN). I have to disable each time to use
It's a free app with decent movies, better than some I paid for no kidding! Prime and shudder are worse and that includes ads and looking at movies you can't watch they list. If you skip back it doesn't reset the ads on and the color and quality in playback are great too. I have 4 paid ones and I'm watching this, I'm cancelling a few tonight cause it's been 2 months like this I've been trying it. Not sure what you get if you pay on it but I'm thinking about it
All the stuff, none of the fuss and hassle. 5 stars all around! It does kinda suck though that in order to access my stuff outside of my network, I had to pay extra, but hey! Small price to pay to permanently have that privilege. Also, they gotta get something for setting it all up for us users, so im happy to pay a 1 time fee for that right! 😊
Both audio and videos on my home server and on the app will randomly stop playing. That being said, the app is broken, but it works on Roku and on my computer. This is not a total loss worthy of 1 star. The app is laughably buggy. Some of these bugs could have been found by just simply running a VM of android and testing the app.

I'm having a major problem with this app now. I watch Plex from an Android phone. I have many favorite channels I watch, in which 3 have stopped 'channel server appears to be offline'. I've gone through the process of deleting all my favorites and now I only have the 3 channels that do not show anymore. I've been trying to delete them from my favorites list, but nothing works. There is no technical help, the support forums don't answer my questions, please help! Trying not to delete the app.

Plex stopped working suddenly on my LG TV after it worked for the most part until recently. Many many crashes but it would at least work sometimes, now it doesn't work at all. They have NO TECH SUPPORT. Literally. No tech phone line, email or chat. They haven't in 4 years I've used them. So...I researched and found a service that SMOKES plex and it's FREE. Offers everything plex does but more and ZERO tech issues. Jellyfin!!! Folks, cut the cord of Plex, JELLYFIN is AMAZING. IM N LUV
Remote Access Sucks! It doesn't give you original quality outside of your network. Only gives you 480SD quality even if your movie is 1080 or 4k, and you don't get tech support only misleading forums. I've tried every possible setting, PC upgrade, went with 1gb fiber optic, and got myself the lifetime Plex membership all for nothing!
I have been able to find movies and shows I have been wanting to see along with movies I haven't seen for years. I would definitely compare it to a service like Tubi. For anyone looking for a free service that is not too annoying with the commercials I would easily recommend this service as compared to others besides Tubi which is also a great service anyone should use for free movies and shows.
